Learning outcomes
Know: object, subject of study of the geography of the construction industry, historical and geographical features and territorial differences of the construction industry in foreign countries; organizational forms and technical and economic features of construction, basics of standardization; structural organization of the construction industry, sectoral structure of the building materials industry, territorial forms of organization of the construction industry, etc. Be able to: determine territorial differences of the construction industry in foreign countries; evaluate scientific and technical support of construction and technical and economic features of construction.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Human Geography", "Economic Geography", "Social Geography", "Cartography", "Introduction to Urban Studies", "Geography of Population and Settlement", "Theory and Practice of Planning", "Introduction to Urban Planning". 2. Know modern quantitative and qualitative methods of geographical research, be able to apply them.
Course content
This academic discipline is devoted to the study of theoretical and methodological principles of the geography of construction and urban real estate markets, issues of organizational forms, technical and economic features and scientific and technical support of construction, the study of the industry structure of the building materials industry, the essence of the main features of real estate objects, the classification and formation of urban real estate markets. The discipline is aimed at the formation of special, professional, social and personal competencies in students, the accumulation of knowledge about the organization, management and operation in construction, as well as the features of the formation of residential and commercial real estate markets. Separate components of the discipline are the study of the historical and geographical features of the construction process, the location and territorial differences of the construction industry in foreign countries, the industry structure of the building materials industry, the formation of the quality of construction products, the commissioning of completed construction objects, technical operation of buildings and structures, the essence and classifications of real estate objects, the formation and development of the Ukrainian commercial real estate market.

Lecture, seminar, creative work, discussion, solving specific tasks and situations, individual work
Assessment methods and criteria
The course consists of two thematic parts. The classes include lectures and seminar, consideration of specific planning situations, and individual tasks in the form of presentations are provided. Final assessment is in the form of examination. Thematic written tests are conducted throughout the semester. For students who have not reached the minimum threshold level of assessment (60% of the maximum possible number of points) during the semester, a final semester test is conducted, the maximum score for which cannot exceed 40% of the final grade (up to 40 points on a 100-point scale). The condition for obtaining a positive final grade in the discipline is to achieve at least 60% of the maximum possible number of points, while the grade for learning outcomes cannot be less than 50% of the maximum level (at least 20, 20, 5 and 5 points, respectively).
