Learning outcomes
The ability to apply knowledge about changes in the natural and spatial resources of the city, its soil cover, air basin, surface and groundwater, flora and fauna, types of pollution to optimize urban landscapes; mastering basic knowledge, concepts and principles of urban ecology, rational design and environmentally optimal options for building urban structures; the ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources, use simple quantitative methods in studying the spheres of the landscape envelope and conduct research at the appropriate level

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Natural Geography", "Introduction to Urban Studies", "Landscape Ecology". 2. Ability to use existing general and special geographical theoretical models and practices in professional activities.
Course content
The academic discipline "Urban Ecology" is a component of the EP "Urban Planning and Urban Planning" for the training of specialists at the educational level "Bachelor" in the specialty 106 Geography, field of knowledge 10 Natural Sciences. The discipline "Urban Ecology" is mandatory and is taught to students in the 4th semester in the amount of 4 ECTS credits. Studying the discipline "Urban Ecology" will allow a future specialist in urban planning and urban planning to understand the essence of the processes that occur in the city's environment; to find out the main sources of urban pollution and what the quality of the environment depends on; how to improve the state of the environment in the city as a whole or at the local level.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and practical classes. The discipline ends with a test. Semester assessment: the number of points that a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points that were obtained when assessing work in practical classes and performing thematic tests. Assessment organization: Work in practical classes is assessed by performance, in accordance with the schedule of practical classes. Thematic tests are carried out in the form of a test.
