Knowledge: concepts of social development of the territory; methodology of socio-geographical study of the territory; methods of socio-geographical study of the development of the region with urban agglomeration; methods of socio-geographical research; the concept of social organization of the territory, etc. Skills: to characterize the ethnic and linguistic diversity of mankind; to assess the confessional geography of the world; identify regional features of social geography, etc.

Course content
Educational discipline “Social Geography” is one of the components of training bachelors in the educational program "Urban Studies and Planning". It is proposed to reveal the features of the structure and development of the social geography, concepts of social development of the territory. Revealed the object-subject field, the conceptual and terminological apparatus of social geography, connections of social geography, stages of development of social geography, factors of social and spatial differentiation of society, мethodological principles of knowledge of social geography research issues.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends with an exam. Semester evaluation: the number of points that the student receives during the semester is the sum of the points obtained during the evaluation of work in seminar classes and the performance of thematic control works. Organization of evaluation: Work in seminar classes is evaluated according to performance, in accordance with the schedule of seminar classes. Thematic control works are conducted in test form.
