Prerequisites and co-requisites
- successful completion of the courses "Human Geography" and "Introduction to Urban Studies"; - knowledge of the theoretical foundations of social geography, sources of geographical information; - proficiency in working with computer programs MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, the ability to think logically, conduct statistical summaries and statistical grouping.
Course content
Within the framework of the academic discipline, students acquire skills in working with literary, statistical, cartographic and Internet sources of information, as well as further systematization of the collected data. The educational component includes five thematic components: familiarization with the official website of the city authorities to collect information about the city; collection of cartographic information about the selected city; search, selection and systematization of data on individual components of the functioning of the city using statistical sources of information; search for mass media Internet sources that highlight issues and problems of the city's development; search, selection, systematization and design of scientific, popular science and local history literary sources of information about the city.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
During the training practice, 5 practical tasks are to be completed. Classes are held in the form of practical work, as well as independent work. The discipline ends with a differentiated test. During the training practice, group and individual consultations are held and the students' performance of practical tasks is checked on an ongoing basis. During the study of the discipline, systematic weekly interim reporting is carried out. The acquisition of knowledge and skills by students is also assessed during the verification and defense of the final report. The final assessment is carried out in the form of a differentiated test, at which students defend their written reports.
