Learning outcomes
Know and understand the subject area of ​​geographical local studies, methods of research in geographical local studies and main sources; theoretical foundations of geographical local studies, as well as national local studies schools, modernist, world-system, civilizational, postmodern and typological approaches in geographical local studies; know the prerequisites and understand the factors and current problems of the development of countries by macroregions of the world Be able to apply theoretical professional knowledge in practical situations; search for and process various sources of geographical information regarding the development of local studies; conduct a comprehensive local studies analysis of the territory, explain and model cause-and-effect relationships between elements of the socio-geographical systems of countries around the world.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Possession of basic concepts of social and economic geography at the level of the secondary school curriculum. 2. Possession of skills of analysis, synthesis, induction and deduction. 3. Possession of skills of working with scientific literature.
Course content
The discipline is designed to develop skills in complex regional analysis at different spatial levels and is divided into two parts: "geographical local history" and "geographical country studies". The "geographical local history" part is devoted to the study of local history features of the territory of Ukraine at the national, regional and local levels. The "geographical country studies" part is aimed at developing skills to understand the complex socio-geographical environment of the economic, social and political development of countries and macro-regions of the world. Overall, the discipline develops the ability to complex spatial thinking, necessary for the development of professional competencies needed in further professional, including managerial activities.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends with an exam. Semester assessment: the number of points that a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points that were received when evaluating the work in seminars and performing thematic tests. Organization of assessment: Work in seminars is assessed by performance, in accordance with the schedule of seminars. Thematic tests are carried out in the form of a test.
