Learning outcomes
LO01. Collect, process and analyze information in the field of earth sciences. LO07. Apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. when studying the natural processes of the formation and development of the pedosphere. LO08. Justify choices and use field and laboratory methods to analyze natural and anthropogenic systems and objects. LO12. To know and apply theories, paradigms, concepts and principles in Earth sciences, in particular in the field of soil science. LO13. Be able to convey the results of activities to a professional audience and the general public, make presentations and messages.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Fundamentals of landscape ecology", "Relief and geological structure of Europe and Ukraine", "Climate of Europe and Ukraine", "Biological resources of Europe and Ukraine", "Soils of Europe and Ukraine", "Water resources of Europe and Ukraine", "Educational practice on geographic information processing methods." 2. To be able to analyze the features of the interaction of the components of the geographical envelope with each other and its features on the territory of Ukraine, to be able to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the natural environment based on the concept of the geographical landscape; 3. To know the main laws of evolution, territorial distribution, dynamic changes of landscapes on the territory of Ukraine; 4. To know the modern methods of selection and mapping of landscape territorial structures at the regional scale level, the rules and methods of classification and ordination of landscapes
Course content
The academic discipline "Landscape diversity of Europe and Ukraine" is dedicated to the study of the natural environment of Ukraine as a complete system with complex territorial organization and long-term evolution. The discipline is focused on the generalization and synthesis of knowledge from the geological structure, relief, soils, climate, plant and animal cover of the territory of Ukraine into a holistic representation represented by the landscape concept. The discipline is aimed at the formation of special professional, social and personal competencies in students, the accumulation of knowledge regarding the possibility of critical thinking, analysis and synthesis, the ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources, the ability to identify, formulate and solve problems in the field of natural geography, especially - in the context of natural conditions and resources of the territory of Ukraine

Assessment methods and criteria
Survey in test form, evaluation of completed practical works, MKR, credit. The recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For students who scored a total of less than 36 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the credit. The final evaluation in the form of an credit. is conducted in a written format. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the credit.).
