Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of general education, general geographic and specialized disciplines during 1-5 semesters, including "Educational practice on methods of acquiring geographic information" and "Educational practice on methods of processing geographic information." 2. Have the ability to think critically, analyze and synthesize information about natural objects from various sources. 3. To know modern quantitative and qualitative methods of geographical research, to be able to apply them in production and research activities.
Course content
This educational discipline is devoted to the study of methods and methods of distribution of geographical information obtained as a result of analysis and synthesis of data obtained from various sources (printed, stock, etc.) or as a result of own research activities. The discipline is aimed at the formation of special professional, social and personal competencies in students, the accumulation of knowledge about the possibility of critical thinking in matters of formation, presentation and dissemination of information. Separate components of the discipline are the study of requirements for the content and structure of scientific texts - articles, theses, reports and presentation materials. The functional block of the discipline involves the mastery of such components as the ability to apply basic knowledge of natural sciences, the ability to apply simple quantitative and qualitative methods in the study of geosystems, the ability to independently investigate and analyze spatio-temporal changes in the parameters of geocomponents for the purposes of successful professional activity in the field of natural sciences.

Assessment methods and criteria
Performance of creative analytical and calculation works, differentiated assessment. The recommended minimum for admission is 30 points. For students who scored a total of less than 30 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to differentiated credit. The final evaluation in the form of a differentiated credit is conducted in a written format. The maximum number of points is 40, the minimum number of points that are added to semester points is 30.
