LO06. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the Earth as a planetary system and its geospheres, including the pedosphere.
LO12. Know and apply theories, paradigms, concepts and principles in Earth sciences, in particular in the field of soil science.
LO13. Be able to convey the results of activities to a professional audience and the general public, make presentations and messages.

1. Successful mastery of the discipline "Introduction to university studies"
2. Be able to use various sources of information about society, analyze them and formulate conclusions, graphically display statistical information.
3. Possession of elementary skills of spatial development analysis.
Course content
It is proposed to reveal the features of the structure and development of the socio-geographical complex; concepts, methodology of social development management, analysis of social development of the territory, territorial organization of society.
The object-subject field, conceptual and terminological apparatus of social geography, connections of social geography, stages of development of social geography in Ukraine and the world, factors of socio-spatial differentiation of society are revealed. Methodological principles of understanding the problems of social geography research, the concept of "region" as a social territorial system, forms of territorial organization of society. Regional social policy. Formation and development of city sociology. Spatial distribution of population in cities and social processes. Social and environmental problems of cities. Features of the social development of the village.

Assessment methods and criteria
Presentations at the seminar, thematic control work (tests), performance of creative works, exam. The recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For students who scored a total of less than 36 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the exam.
The final evaluation in the form of an exam is conducted in a written format. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam).
