1) successful mastering of the disciplines "Geology", "Hydrology", "Meteorology", "Soil science", "Geomorphology", "Biogeography with the basics of geobotany", etc.; 2) the ability to analyze cause-and-effect relationships between natural components, processes and phenomena in the natural environment and to find out their spatial and temporal regularities.
Course content
Earth science is a complex geographical science devoted to the study of the general laws of the nature of the planet, i.e. the structure, internal and external relationships, dynamics of functioning of the geographical envelope as a complete system. In contrast to branch geographical disciplines, each of which mainly considers a certain component or geosphere, earth science covers general properties, signs and cross-cutting processes, what unites them into a new formation qualitatively different from each of the components - the geographical shell. The tasks of land science are: knowledge of the regularities of the structure and development of the geographical envelope; study of the dynamics of matter and energy transfer processes in it; development of an optimal management system for geographic processes. General earth science also fulfills scientific and social tasks, namely: lays down in the mind of a person scientific ideas about the structure of the universe, which are of interest to mankind throughout the history of civilization; studies the laws of organization, functioning, the history of the development of the geographical envelope and the biosphere; characterizes the theoretical foundations of a number of disciplines, combining them subject-wise and methodologically.

Assessment methods and criteria
Оral survey, blitz survey, tests, presentations, discourse, written work, etc. The maximum number of points for credit is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to semester credits is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for credit). Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points are not allowed to pass the test. The recommended minimum for admission to the test is 35 points. Assessment is carried out throughout the semester of all types of work, including independent work and individual assignments.
