Learning outcomes
LO01. Collect, process and analyze information in the field of earth sciences LO07. Apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. when studying natural processes of formation and development of the pedosphere. LO08. Justify choices and use field and laboratory methods to analyze natural and anthropogenic systems and objects. LO12. To know and apply theories, paradigms, concepts and principles in Earth sciences, in particular in the field of soil science. LO13. Be able to communicate the results of activities to a professional audience and the general public, make presentations and messages.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Know the theoretical foundations of the general geographic disciplines "Analytical chemistry", "Fundamentals of general and historical geology", "Climatology with the basics of meteorology", "Physics with the basics of geophysics", "Physical and chemical processes in the hydrosphere", "Introduction to soil science", " Biogeography" and practical skills of field natural-geographic research - topographic, geological, geomorphological, meteorological, hydrological, soil science, biogeographic, landscape-ecological, acquired in educational practice. 2) To be able to observe and analyze the ecological situation on various information slices, to determine the main ecological problems and spatial conflicts of nature use. 3) To have the skills of analysis of cartographic materials, materials of remote sensing of the Earth and construction of maps.
Course content
The content of the discipline reveals theoretical and applied issues of modern ecology and international experience of cooperation in the field of environmental protection. The structure of the discipline involves the study of the theoretical foundations of ecology, norms of environmental law of Ukraine and international environmental law, as well as the practice of regulatory and ecological support of land management projects and urban planning documentation.

Assessment methods and criteria
Examination in test, oral and written form. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to the semester ones is 24 points. Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points are not allowed to take the exam. The recommended minimum for admission is 36 points.
