P05. Collect, process and analyze information in the field of geographical sciences; P06. Use information technologies, cartographic and geo-informational models in the field of geographical sciences. P07. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the landscape envelope and its components. P09. Analyze the composition and structure of natural and sociospheres (in accordance with the professional direction) on different spatial and temporal scales. P13. Know and be able to use field and laboratory methods of research to analyze the morphology, genesis, age and dynamics of the relief, as well as to evaluate the geotourism potential of the territory.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of such mandatory disciplines as "Fundamentals of General Geology", "Geomorphology". 2) possession of elementary skills of macroscopic determination of properties of minerals and rocks.
Course content
The content of the discipline reveals some theoretical and applied issues of petrography and lithology as means of learning the genesis and age of landforms. The structure of the discipline involves the study of the main relief-forming igneous (first part), sedimentary (second part) and metamorphic (third part) rocks, their diagnostic features, expression in the relief, etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
Survey in test and written form and performance of practical work, exam. The recommended minimum for admission is 33 points. For students who scored a total of less than 33 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the exam. Final assessment in the form of an exam is conducted in writing. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to the semester ones is 27 points.
