Learning outcomes
R01. To know, understand and be able to use in practice basic concepts from the theory of physical geography, landscape ecology, as well as worldview sciences. R03. Explain the peculiarities of the organization of geographical space. R05. Collect, process and analyze information in the field of geographical sciences. R06. Use information technologies, cartographic and geo-informational models in the field of geographical sciences. R07. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the landscape envelope and its components. R09. Analyze the composition and structure of natural and sociospheres (in accordance with the professional direction) on different spatial and temporal scales.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To be able to establish the nature of relationships between the causes, consequences and ways of solving geoecological problems. 2. To be able to analyze the negative consequences of unregulated human economic activity from the standpoint of a geoecological approach to environmental protection problems. 3. To know the main theoretical principles of modern geoecology, the history of the formation of this science, its structure and regularities of the functioning of the natural environment. 4. To know modern quantitative and qualitative methods of geoecological research, methods of research of natural and transformed landscapes, determination of purity standards of components of the natural environment, organization of geoecological monitoring, etc.
Course content
This educational discipline is dedicated to the study of general geoecological problems and the peculiarities of the functioning of geoecosystems that are affected by economic and other human activities, the causes of their occurrence, the principles and modern methods used to solve them, as well as the formation of skills and abilities to solve the main geoecological problems in the plane subject area of ​​knowledge of natural geography. The discipline "Fundamentals of Geoecology" is aimed at deepening theoretical geoecological knowledge, forming special professional, social and personal competencies in students, accumulating knowledge about the possibility of critical thinking, analysis and synthesis, the ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources, the ability to determine, formulate and solve problems in the field of natural geography and geoecology.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Assessment methods and criteria
The survey in test and written form is conducted after the completion of the teaching of each topic. Practical work is defended by performance, in accordance with the schedule of practical classes. Modular control works (MCR) are conducted in test form. Students who received less than the minimum prescribed number of points for the MKR will retake it. The recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For students who scored a total of less than 36 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the exam. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 24.
