Learning outcomes
To form the ability to apply basic knowledge of natural and social sciences and information technologies when studying the geographical envelope and its components in terms of their influence on the development of rural areas; the ability to preserve and multiply moral, cultural, scientific values and achievements of society based on an understanding of the history and patterns of development of the subject area, its place in the general system of knowledge about nature and society and in the development of society, technology and technology; to use various types and forms of physical activity for active recreation and leading a healthy lifestyle of a rural resident; understanding and self-understanding of the basic worldview concepts and principles in education and professional activity; the ability to adhere to the norms of a healthy lifestyle and implement them in personal and professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Social Geography", "Economic Geography", "Historical Geography", "Urban Geography", "Socio-economic Geography
of Ukraine".
2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of social geography, economic geography, theories and concepts of regional development.
3. Possession of skills in analyzing rural development.
Course content
A scheme, methodological approaches and criteria for studying rural areas of Ukraine are proposed. The main features of the development of rural areas of Ukraine are described. The principles of geographical analysis and synthesis of knowledge on the development of rural areas are revealed. The need for a coordinated study of changes in environmental management that determine the development of rural areas is determined. A comprehensive analysis of nature, population, economy, and their interaction in rural areas of Ukraine is carried out.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, individual assignments

Assessment methods and criteria
Classes are held in the form of lectures, seminars. The discipline ends with an exam. During the semester, after completing the relevant topics, thematic written tests with open questions are held. To determine the level of achievement of the learning outcomes provided for in paragraphs 2 and 3, students present and defend the completed individual tasks. For students who have not reached the minimum threshold level of assessment during the semester (60% of the maximum possible number of points), a final semester test is held, the maximum score for which does not exceed 40% of the final score. The condition for obtaining a positive final grade in the discipline is to achieve at least 60% of the maximum possible number of points, while the grade for the learning outcomes provided for in paragraphs 2 and 3 cannot be less than 50% of the maximum level (at least 10, 15 and 5 points, respectively).
