Learning outcomes
The purpose of the discipline is to characterize the dynamics, trends, patterns and prospects of the development of science and education in the world and in Ukraine; to form in students the ability to preserve and multiply moral, cultural, scientific values ​​and achievements of society based on an understanding of the history and patterns of the development of the subject area, its place in the general system of knowledge about nature and society and in the development of society, technology and technology; to highlight the specifics of the development of: preschool education; complete general secondary education; out-of-school education; specialized education; professional (vocational and technical) education; professional pre-higher education; higher education; adult education, including postgraduate education; to characterize the problems and prospects of the development of higher geographical education in Ukraine.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of the disciplines "Public Geography", "Social Geography"; 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of public geography, natural resource potential, population, location of production. 3) knowledge of modern quantitative and qualitative methods of geographical research, the ability to apply them in production and scientific research activities; to model objects and processes using modern quantitative and qualitative methods and geoinformation technologies.
Course content
The academic discipline is dedicated to revealing the essence, role, function and tasks of education. Historical information about the civilizational origin of educational activity is highlighted. The modern era and development of education are characterized. The components of the education system are highlighted and characterized. Preschool and secondary education in Ukraine are characterized. Considerable attention is paid to the formation of educational districts and supporting educational institutions, the new Ukrainian school. The role of extracurricular and professional education in Ukraine is shown. Professional pre-higher and higher education in Ukraine is analyzed. Adult education in Ukraine is considered. Features of the training of scientific, pedagogical and scientific personnel in Ukraine are identified. The specifics of modern education abroad are highlighted.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, creative works, discussions Total volume: 120 hours, lectures – 20 hours; seminars – 20 hours, independent work – 80 hours.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is carried out throughout the semester for all types of work, including seminars, independent work and individual assignments. The course has 2 substantive parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures, seminars, testing, discussions, presentations are provided. The discipline ends with a test. During the semester, after completing the relevant topics, thematic written tests with open questions are conducted. To determine the level of achievement of learning outcomes, students present the results of their research and demonstrate the acquired skills. For students who have not reached the minimum threshold level of assessment during the semester (60% of the maximum possible number of points), a final semester test is conducted, the maximum score for which cannot exceed 40% of the final grade (up to 40 points on a 100-point scale).
