The objectives of the discipline "Regional Business Planning" are to provide students with general and professional competencies provided for by the educational program "Economic Geography", in particular: understanding the theoretical foundations of business planning in general and regional business planning in particular; teaching how to apply simple quantitative and qualitative methods in substantiating and developing business plans; ensuring mastery of the methodology for collecting, registering and analyzing information using methods and technological means in field and laboratory conditions (FC-3), revealing the mechanisms of substantiating and methods for developing a business plan for an investment project; methods for assessing its effectiveness and feasibility, predicting and assessing the practical result before the start of project implementation; effectively applying the methodology for developing a business plan in managing regional development.

Full-time form

1. Successful mastery of the discipline "Geographic Modeling", knowledge of the basics of management and economics. 2. Be able to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the main elements of the regional economy, understand the main mechanisms of the functioning of the regional economy. 3. Possess elementary skills in the analysis and synthesis of statistical information, methods of mathematical statistics, modeling methods.

This academic discipline is devoted to studying the theoretical foundations and providing practical recommendations for developing a business plan and its implementation in the system of socio-economic development of the region. Separate components of the discipline are studying the essence of business planning, its place in the market economy system; the essence and main stages of preparing a business plan; requirements for writing and drawing up a business plan; preparation of a regional business plan and its individual parts (evaluation of the product (services) and market, marketing plan, production plan, organizational plan, financial plan); assessment of business plan risks; methodological principles of business plan analysis, dynamic analysis of break-even of a business project, assessment of financial resources in business planning; analysis and forecasting of the financial condition of the region and assessment of its investment attractiveness; presentation of a business project.

Lecture, seminar, analytical work, business cases

In the process of studying the discipline, 2 content blocks are provided. The discipline ends with a test. During the semester, after completing the relevant topics, current knowledge control is carried out in the form of a thematic written modular test with open questions and tests. To determine the level of achievement of the learning outcomes provided for in paragraphs 2 and 3, students present the results of their research (individual investment business project) and demonstrate the acquired skills. Assessment is carried out throughout the semester for all types of work, including independent work and the implementation of an individual investment business project. The project defense is carried out in the presence of students in the group. At the defense, each student is allocated 10 minutes, of which 7 minutes for a report and up to 3 minutes for questions and answers. For work submitted after the specified deadline, a part of the specified maximum score is deducted.
