Learning outcomes
They consist in familiarizing students with the theoretical principles and methods of modern socio-geographical regionalism. As a result of studying the discipline, students should master the basic concepts: "social-geographical region", "social-geographical regionalization", "principles of social-geographical regionalization", know the factors, patterns of regionalization, the history of regional studies, and also learn how to conduct social-geographical regionalization, namely: use the theoretical provisions of social-geographical regionalization when determining the principles and criteria of regionalization, selecting interdisciplinary and special research methods for conducting social-geographical regionalization; analyze the component, territorial and administrative structure of social-geographical regions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Successful completion of the courses “Social Geography”, “Economic Geography”, “Social Geographical Cartography”, “Theories of Regional Economic System and Regional Economy”. 2) Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of social geography, location of production, population settlement, general principles of conducting scientific research. 3) Possession of skills in working with cartographic sources, open access computer programs for working with tables, text, graphic images, software for using the Internet.
Course content
The basics of scientific ideas about the socio-geographical district as an object of geographical research, its structure, features of formation and development are presented. The evolution of scientific views on the processes of district formation, the patterns of district formation, the principles, techniques and methods of zoning used by representatives of various schools of zoning are highlighted. Special attention is paid to the modern vision of the processes of district formation, as well as an overview of the zoning grids of Ukraine. One of the most important goals is to develop in students the skills to independently choose one or another zoning method depending on the nature and properties of the sector of the economy being zoned and the research tasks set.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends with an exam. During the semester, thematic tests are held in the form of tests after completing the consideration of the relevant topics. The acquisition of knowledge and skills by students is also assessed during seminars that involve discussion of current topics and debates. Students perform analytical tasks. For students who have not scored the minimum number of points during the semester (36 points), a final semester test is held. The final assessment is carried out in the form of an exam. The maximum number of points based on the results of the work check is 40 points.
