Learning outcomes
According to the results of passing the discipline "Electoral Geography", students must: form an understanding and own comprehension of the main worldview concepts and principles of political and electoral geography in education and professional activity; develop the ability to apply basic knowledge of political and electoral geography and related sciences, as well as information technologies in the study of the geographical envelope and its components; develop skills in collecting, registering and analyzing electoral and geographical data using appropriate methods and technological means in field and laboratory conditions; form the ability to establish the role and place of Ukraine in the modern world in the context of political and geographical factors of its development, analyze and explain the features of geospatial organization, socio-political processes in Ukraine, understand and explain the strategy of its sustainable development.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- Successful mastery of the disciplines "Geographical Country Studies and Local Studies", "Methods of Country Studies and Political-Geographical Research", "Political Geography" and "Country Studies and Political-Geographical Studies". - Possession of basic skills in country studies analysis, in particular, searching and systematizing data about the country, necessary both for the study of electoral processes and for the analysis of the complex socio-political context of the country. - Possession of basic statistical analysis techniques that can be used for processing electoral statistics, in particular, correlation and regression analysis, analysis of statistical series. - Ability to work with cartographic materials and skills in creating simple cartographic models for the visualization of electoral-geographical statistics.
Course content
The discipline "Electoral Geography" is dedicated to the study of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the geography of elections, as well as applied aspects of electoral and geographical analysis. The discipline is built on the basis of two content modules. The first module consists of lectures and is devoted to the consideration of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the discipline, in particular the history of its development and the formation of the methodological apparatus, as well as the formation of the modern electoral environment in democratic countries of the world and in Ukraine. Separate attention is paid to the complex of factors that determine electoral behavior. The second module (consists of several review lectures and a series of seminar classes) is dedicated to the applied electoral and geographical analysis of a number of countries of the world, as well as an in-depth study of electoral and geographical processes in Ukraine. During the completion of seminar tasks, students test theoretical knowledge from the first module.

Assessment methods and criteria
The discipline includes 2 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. Seminars involve the performance of a certain amount of independent work, the results of which students demonstrate the results of their own research and analytical work in the classroom, which are collectively discussed. In total, for work in seminars, students can score a maximum of 30 points. During the semester, after completing the relevant thematic blocks, two written tests with open questions are held. For each test, students can score a maximum of 15 points (30 points in total). In total, during the semester, students can score a maximum of 60 points. The discipline ends with a final assessment in the form of a written test. Students can score a maximum of 40 points on the test. The condition for receiving a positive final grade in the discipline is achieving at least 60% of the maximum possible number of points.
