Learning outcomes
Expanding and deepening the knowledge of applicants regarding the methodological basis of geographical geography; mastering new and consolidating previously acquired skills in working with sources, as well as skills in professional analysis of geographical information, forming the skills to independently organize analytical work. The task of the discipline is to form in applicants general and professional (special) competencies provided for by the educational and professional program "Economic Geography".

1. Successful completion of the courses "Social Geography", "Geographical Local Studies and Country Studies", "Methods of Country Studies and Political and Geographical Research"; 2. Successful completion of training practice in acquiring geographical information and training practice in methods of processing geographical information
Course content
The discipline is designed to form and deepen the understanding of the main methodological approaches of modern regional studies, to illustrate the multifaceted nature of regional studies, the issues of which may relate to economic, socio-cultural or political spheres, as well as to form the skills of systematic analytical work with specific cases - countries and regions, which includes the collection and processing of necessary data, the actual analysis and formulation of original conclusions on a given issue. The main emphasis is on understanding the interdependence of development between individual components of the socio-geographical environment, which makes regional studies specialists especially competitive specialists in professional analytical and managerial activities.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, applicants can earn up to 60% of the final points in the discipline on a 100-point scale, i.e. a maximum of 60 points. Based on the results of writing two tests to test knowledge of the lecture material, applicants can score up to 50% of the maximum number of points that can be earned during the semester (25% for each test, i.e. 15 points on a 100-point scale, together for two modular tests - 30 points). Based on the results of work in seminars, applicants can get up to 50% of the points provided for semester control (i.e. 30 points on a 100-point scale). Work in seminars requires that each applicant must make 7 individual presentations based on the results of the work done with the defense of their own conclusions in the process of group discussion. For each presentation, the applicant can receive a maximum of 4 points (28 points throughout the semester). The applicant can earn another 2 points for active participation in group discussions.
