Learning outcomes
Know: concepts of social development of the territory; methodology of socio-geographical research of the territory; methodology of socio-geographical research of the development of the region with an urban agglomeration; methods of socio-geographical research; concept of social organization of the territory, etc. Be able to: characterize the ethnic and linguistic diversity of humanity; assess the confessional geography of the world; determine regional features of social geography, etc.

1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Social Geography", "Economic Geography", "Historical Geography". 2. Possession of elementary skills in the analysis of spatial development.
Course content
The academic discipline "Social Geography" is one of the components of the bachelor's training in the educational program "Economic Geography". It is proposed to reveal the features of the structure and development of social geography, concepts of social development of the territory. The object-subject field, the conceptual and terminological apparatus of social geography, the connections of social geography, the stages of development of social geography, the factors of socio-spatial differentiation of society, the methodological principles of cognition of the problems of research of social geography are revealed.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends with an exam. Semester assessment: the number of points that a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points that were obtained when evaluating the work in seminars and performing thematic tests. Assessment organization: Work in seminars is assessed by performance, in accordance with the schedule of seminars. Thematic tests are conducted in the form of tests.
