Formation of students' ideas about the methodological basis of political geography and geographical regional studies; mastering the skills of qualitative and quantitative analysis, basic methods of mathematical statistics in application to political-geographical and regional studies issues; formation of skills of working with various types of geographical data; formation of skills of competent organization of research works (course and diploma projects).

1. Successful completion of the courses "Social Geography", "Geographical Local Studies and Regional Studies"; 2. Successful completion of educational practice in acquiring geographical information 3. Possession of the basics of mathematical analysis at the level of the secondary school curriculum.
Course content
The academic discipline "Methods of Political-Geographical and Country Studies Research" aims to form in students a comprehensive understanding of the methodological base of social geography, in particular in the field of political geography and country studies. The relationship between narrow-branch and interdisciplinary scientific and analytical approaches is analyzed, in particular, emphasis is placed on the methods of applying interdisciplinary methods of sociological analysis and their adaptation for the needs of spatial analysis. Blocks of methods of qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis and cartographic visualization are separately highlighted. Also, attention is paid to the peculiarities of the source base of political-geographical and country studies research and the requirements for data collection and organization.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment of the results of studying the discipline is based on semester control and exam. Semester control involves writing two tests to test knowledge of lecture material, as well as assessing the performance of practical work. Based on the results of writing tests to test knowledge of lecture material, students can score up to 50% of the maximum number of points that can be earned during the semester. Based on the results of practical work, students can score up to 50% of the points provided for semester control. To successfully complete the semester work and be admitted to the exam, students must receive at least 60% of the maximum possible number of points during the semester, i.e. 36 points on a 100-point scale.
