            Learning outcomes
        
        
            Know: historical aspects of the development of territorial planning, the origins of planning strategies, planning concepts for the organization of the European space; classifications, principles, methods, main types of planning; features of territorial planning at the national, regional and local levels, etc. Be able to: determine operational planning units of geoplanning; organize and summarize materials of field and laboratory research of the territory for planning needs, carry out geoplanning zoning, etc.

            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Human Geography", "Introduction to Urban Studies". 2. Possess elementary skills in the analysis of spatial development. 3. Know modern quantitative and qualitative methods of geographical research, be able to apply them in scientific research activities.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            This academic discipline is devoted to the study of theoretical and methodological principles of planning, issues of developing plans and strategies at the regional and local levels. The discipline is aimed at forming in students special professional, social and personal competencies, accumulation of knowledge on geoplanning of regions with different strategies of socio-economic development. Separate components of the discipline are the study of historical aspects of the development of regional territorial planning, theoretical and methodological foundations of planning, types of territorial planning, methodological issues of regional territorial planning, hierarchical system of planning of the territory of Ukraine. The strategic planning block involves mastering such components as the technology of developing a strategic plan, monitoring and evaluating the implementation of a strategic plan, strategic planning of community development, development of a strategic plan for the development of a territorial community.

            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            The course includes 2 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures, seminars, consideration of specific planning situations, and individual tasks are performed in the format of presentations. Thematic written tests are conducted throughout the semester. To determine the level of achievement of learning outcomes, students present the results of their scientific research and demonstrate the acquired skills. The final assessment is in the form of a credit, which is issued based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures for successful students.
