Learning outcomes
To know the subject, object, areas of research, the importance of economic geography; theories and concepts of development and location of social production, research methods; basic concepts of economic geography; factors and current trends in the development and location of agriculture, industry, services, etc. To be able to: search and systematize economic and geographical information; calculate indicators that allow to determine the level of specialization of regions, assess the level of efficiency of economic activity; interpret the results of economic activity.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Successful completion of the course “Social Geography”. 2) ability to analyze the features of natural and social processes in the geographical environment, to carry out a comprehensive assessment and monitoring of resources; 3) possession of skills in working with cartographic sources, computer programs MS Word, MS Excel, software for using the Internet, performing simple mathematical calculations, building logical schemes.
Course content
The basic regularities of spatial development of social production, methods of economic and geographical research of countries and regions are presented, the basic concepts of economic geography are highlighted, the latest trends in the development and location of the main sectors of the economy: agriculture, industry, transport, recreation, tourism, and scientific activities are analyzed. The geographical features of foreign economic activity in the context of globalization are considered and the general principles of economic zoning of territories and regional economic policy are revealed.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, seminar, analytical work, discussion, independent work The total amount of _120_ hours, including: Lectures - 28 hours. Seminars - 28 hours. Independent work - 64 hours.
Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 3 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The course ends with an exam. Semester assessment: the number of points a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points received during the assessment of work in seminars, participation in discussions, analytical tasks, and thematic tests. Organization of assessment: work in seminars is assessed upon completion, in accordance with the schedule of seminars. During the semester, thematic tests are conducted in the form of tests after the completion of the relevant topics.
