Learning outcomes
The study of the properties of the Earth's atmosphere and hydrosphere as components of the geographical envelope, the development of modern methods of meteorological and hydrological research is focused on the formation of the necessary general and professional competencies of first-level higher education students in the specialty 106 - Geography, namely: the ability to apply knowledge in practical situations, knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity, to exercise one's rights and obligations as a member of society, to realize the values of a civil (free democratic) society and the need for its sustainable development, the rule of law, the rights and freedoms of man and citizen in Ukraine, to apply knowledge and understanding of the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of nature and society, to apply simple quantitative methods in the study of the spheres of the landscape envelope, to analyze the composition

Course content
Module 1 "Meteorological Research" is devoted to the study of the general properties of the Earth's air envelope, its chemical composition, structure, main characteristics of radiation, thermal and water regimes, baric field, general circulation of the atmosphere; the study of modern methods and means of meteorological research; mastering the methods of conducting ground-based meteorological observations and methods of processing meteorological data. Module 2 "Hydrological Research" is devoted to the study of the general patterns of formation and course of processes in the hydrosphere, the interconnection of the hydrosphere with the atmosphere, lithosphere; the water cycle on Earth; the main patterns of physical and geographical distribution of water bodies (rivers, lakes, glaciers, groundwater, swamps, oceans and seas) and their reserves; sources of water bodies and their hydrological regime, and the attention of geography students is paid to the consideration and development of basic instruments and means of hydrometric observations and methods of hydrological research on wate

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, analytical work, independent work
Total volume 120 hours, including:
Lectures – 28 hours
Seminars – 28 hours
Independent work – 64 hours
Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of an oral survey, a written blitz survey, the performance of analytical and calculation works and the writing of written control works.
The specific weight of learning outcomes in the final assessment, provided that they are mastered at the appropriate level, is as follows:
•learning outcomes – 1 (knowledge) – up to 60%;
•learning outcomes – 2 (skills) - up to 30%;
•learning outcomes – 3 (communication) - up to 5%;
•learning outcomes – 4 (autonomy and responsibility) - up to 5%.
The semester total number of points in the discipline "Meteorological and Hydrological Research" is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from two content modules (Module 1. Meteorological Research, Module 2. Hydrological Research). The maximum number of points for the test is 40 points
