Learning outcomes
The study of the discipline is aimed at mastering the most important concepts of general geology and general geomorphology, namely: to acquaint with modern ideas about the material composition and physical properties of the Earth; to teach to recognize in nature the manifestations of modern geodynamic processes, to analyze their causes and consequences; to develop skills in determining minerals and rocks, their influence on the formation of the relief of the Earth's surface; to acquaint with the properties of the relief of the Earth's surface (morphology, origin, age, dynamics), classifications of these properties; to acquaint with the main methods of studying the relief and relief-forming deposits, the main directions of using knowledge about the relief of the Earth's surface for practical purposes; to teach to "read" geological and geomorphological maps, to identify areas of modern dangerous processes and conflicts of nature use.

Course content
The content of the discipline reveals the basic concepts of general, dynamic and historical geology of general and dynamic geomorphology and indicates the need to study the geological structure and relief as the basis that determines the vital activity of mankind. The structure of the discipline involves the study of the general geophysical characteristics of the Earth, the most important information about minerals and rocks, the processes of internal and external geodynamics, the scientific principles of methods for reconstructing the history of the Earth's development, the mechanisms of the course of geomorphological processes, the distribution on land and in the ocean of regularly located relief forms, morphology, genesis, age and dynamics of the relief of the Earth's surface from the point of view of the most important theoretical generalizations of geomorphology

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, independent work. Total volume 120 hours, including: Lectures – 28 hours Seminars – 28 hours Independent work – 64 hours
Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 content modules. Classes are held in the form of lectures and practical classes. The discipline ends with a test. semester assessment: the number of points that a student receives during the term of studying the discipline is the sum of the points that were obtained when evaluating the completed practical work, taking a survey and writing test papers. The specific weight of learning outcomes in the final assessment, provided that they are mastered at the proper level, is as follows: learning outcomes – 1 (knowledge of RN 1.1-1.11) – up to 54%; learning outcomes – 2 (skills of RN 2.1-2.7) - up to 34%; learning outcomes – 3 (communication) - up to 4% learning outcomes – 4 (autonomy and responsibility) - up to 8%
