Identify the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the Earth as a planetary system and its geospheres (PLO6) Be able to perform research on the atmosphere and and other geospheres using quantitative methods of analysis (PLO 9) Analyze the composition and structure of the atmosphere and other geospheres at different spatial and temporal scales (PLO-10) Know and apply theories, paradigms, concepts and principles in the Earth sciences in accordance with specialization (PLO-12) To know the laws of occurrence and development of atmospheric processes and phenomena; be able to to identify, predict, model atmospheric processes and phenomena. (PLO-16)
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of a course in physics, mathematics, general meteorology, atmospheric thermodynamics. 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of meteorology, laws of physics, in particular atmospheric physics of the atmosphere, the ability to establish cause and effect relationships between phenomena and processes occurring in the atmosphere. Knowledge of the basic laws and laws of modern theoretical meteorology.

The course consists of two content modules. The first module - "Atmospheric composition. Atmospheric statics" covers the structure of the atmosphere and the main meteorological processes occurring in the dry and and humid atmosphere. The second module is "Atmospheric dynamics. Thermal state of the turbulent Atmosphere" examines the elements and models of the moving atmosphere; turbulent heat exchange.
