Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses "Meteorology", "Climatology". 2. Knowledge of the theoretical basis of the course of atmospheric processes and phenomena. Possession of skills in processing meteorological and climatic information, methods of synthesis and analysis of information.
Course content
The discipline is devoted to the study of the impact of major meteorological and climatic factors on living organisms - plants, microorganisms, animals and humans. In the process of studying the discipline, meteorological factors of human heat exchange are considered; the main approaches to the typification of bioclimatic indices; cold stress indices and features of their application; effective temperature indices; bioclimatic indices based on the equation of heat balance of the human body; the concept of average radiation temperature of the environment and its role in the calculation of modern bioclimatic indices; climate as a recreational resource; climatotherapy, medical and climatic procedures. Structurally, the course consists of four content modules.
