Industrial practice is conducted with the aim of consolidating and deepening the acquired theoretical knowledge and acquiring practical skills for performing work in the chosen specialty. At the same time, it is a preparatory stage for the following production practices, an integral part of the educational process and an important form of effective training of highly qualified specialists.

Full-time form

Successful study of mandatory and professionally oriented disciplines of 1–3 years of study.

With the aim of forming the professional competence of students, namely the ability to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practical situations, to know and understand the main tasks in the field of geodesy, cartography, geoinformatics, etc., special attention is paid to the selection of bases for passing industrial practice. The main enterprises and organizations are those with which the department of geodesy and cartography, the faculty of geography cooperates.Bases of practices, according to the profile of students' training, can be state and private enterprises, organizations and international firms that perform work in the field of cartography, geoinformation systems, remote sensing of the Earth, geodesy, etc., with which long-term contracts are concluded or for the duration of the internship.

Requirements for drawing up a practice report The student's report on the results of practice is one of the first qualifying papers, which can be used to assess the level of his general scientific and special training; the ability to organize work and work in a team; degree of assimilation of the practice program and practical skills acquired on the job. The basis of the report should be regular entries in the practice diary about completed tasks, which should preferably be supplemented with personal observations, a description of technological features, a critical analysis of the organization of work, conclusions and remarks, etc.

Evaluation is based on a 100-point scale (each student receives a certain number of points). The number of points from 60 to 100 is considered to be the one that fixes the enrollment of this part of the practice.
