Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of compulsory and optional disciplines according to the curriculum of the 1st year of study, especially such disciplines as "Topography", "Cartography", "Computer graphics for cartography and GIS".
Course content
"Map design and compilation" is a discipline dedicated to the study and development of map creation methods and technologies, issues of scientific and technical editing of these works. The course examines the theoretical foundations, methods and technologies of creating cartographic works. The discipline is closely related to the following cartographic disciplines: cartography, mathematical cartography, geodesy, topography, photogrammetry and land surveying, digital cartography and GIS, computer graphics and map publishing technology. The discipline includes lectures and laboratory classes. The course consists of two content modules. The form of discipline control is an exam.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Current (semester) assessment (laboratory (minimum grade 20, maximum 40; control work (test) (5 - 10); independent work (5 - 10)). Final (final) assessment in the form of an exam (assessment for knowledge of theory (minimum 12, maximum 20 points); assessment for the practical part (13-20). For students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 35 points, for admission to the final control form, it is necessary to pass an additionally completed individual task.
Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of checking and defending laboratory works, writing written tests, and an exam. The specific weight of learning outcomes in the final assessment, provided they are mastered at the appropriate level, is as follows: knowledge (1.1–1.4 – 10 points); skills (2.1–2.4 – 40 points); communication (3.1 – 40 points); autonomy and responsibility (4.1 – 10 points).
