successful mastering of cartography and topography topics provided by the geography curriculum for grades 6–11, mastering the school computer science course for grades 9–11.
Course content
The ability to work with GIS is an important component of professional competence. Geography, geographic information, informatics turned out to be necessary for solving many applied tasks and problems today.
The discipline is designed for the study of the basics of geoinformatics in the first semester of the 1st year and includes lectures and laboratory exercises held in the computer classroom.
The program of the academic discipline consists of two content modules:
1. Fundamentals of geoinformatics.
2. Data sources and organization of information in GIS.
The form of discipline control is credit.

Lecture, laboratory. work, consultations throughout the semester, written control work, tests, defense of completed homework, credit.
Assessment methods and criteria
- current (semester) assessment (laboratory (minimum grade 15, maximum 30; control papers (6-10); independent work (5-10));
– final (final) assessment in the form of credit (assessment for theory knowledge (minimum 12, maximum 20 points); assessment for the practical part (13-20).
For students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 35 points, for admission to the final control form, it is necessary to pass an additionally completed individual task.
