Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
- understand topographic maps and use them in scientific research, practical and educational activities;
- solve problems on topographic plans and maps;
- perform inspection and adjustment of geodetic instruments of technical accuracy;
- perform angular, linear and height measurements;
- create filming networks;
- carry out topographic surveying of the area and draw up topographic plans;
to possess: the technology of field and camera work during topographic surveying of the area with the use of modern technical means and computing equipment.
Course content
The purpose of the educational discipline is to study theoretical issues of the representation of the earth's surface on topographic maps and plans, the creation of a plan-elevation network, topographic surveying of the area, solving problems on maps (plans).
The study of the discipline forms future specialists in geodesy, cartography and land management skills for performing field and camera work. Knowledge of topography with the basics of geodesy is necessary for students to successfully master courses in cartography, photogrammetry, land management planning, land cadastre, etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
The final grade from the educational component - the exam, is defined as the sum of grades (points) for all successfully assessed study results of 60 points and the exam of 40 points. Scores below the minimum threshold level are not added to the final score. Completion of all laboratory works and modular control works is mandatory for obtaining a positive final grade (60 points and above). Current (semester) assessment (seminars (minimum grade 24, maximum 40; control papers (6-10); independent work (5-10). For students who scored a total of less points than the critical-calculation minimum - 35 points, for admission to the final control form, it is necessary to submit an additionally completed individual complex task.
