Learning outcomes
1.1 Know the specifics of content for modern media; criteria for content selection, understand the relationship between content, data and facts. Understand genre classification. Know the rules of design, color basics and typography. 1.2 Understand the technologies for creating and editing images, audio/video podcasts and texts. 2.1 Be able to collect, analyse, verify and present data for various media. 2.2 Be able to structure and interpret graphically information according to the task. 2.3 Be able to create compositions, advertisements, audio/video podcasts, logos and corporate style in computer graphics editors. 2.4 Be able to formulate idea and design concept of the future material. 3.1 Be able to present their original media product. 3.2 Be able to analyse and evaluate their original or someone else's media product. 4.1 Comprehensive understanding of the assigned tasks. 4.2 Responsibility for the performed work on data search and their systematisation.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of basic internet search skills. 2. Awareness of the creative nature of the journalist's work. 3. Knowledge of basic skills of working in social media and graphic editors. 4. Knowledge of basic skills of working/dealing with audio content, shooting, editing and directing.
Course content
The purpose of the course is to provide students with a set of theoretical knowledge and practical skills on the types, search, verification, analysis, storage and protection of data. Students develop the ability to apply design technologies to produce their own/ original media content, mastering the basics of media production, create audio/video podcasts and post them on social media and online learning platforms. It is taught to first-year bachelor students of specialty 061 - Journalism. During the course of study, students master the ways of working ( research, analysis, interpretation, presentation) with content (facts, data, comments) according to the purpose of the publication and the type of media, learn to evaluate journalistic material in terms of its compliance with the needs of the readership, interpret data in accordance with the task, and create content for different media, taking into account their features. The course includes knowledge of the types and specifics of content, criteria and requirements for it, the capabilities of data search and analysis software, technologies for creating journalistic audio and video messages, digital security. Students master the technologies of television and radio production and work with visual content.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course has 5 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, practical classes and independent work. At the end of the 1st semester, an intermediate knowledge assessment is carried out, the 2nd semester ends with an exam. Knowledge monitoring is carried out according to the ECTS system. The 1st and 2nd modules are taught in the 1st semester with an intermediate assessment in the form of a test. The 3rd, 4th and 5th modules are taught in the 2nd semester and are concluded with an exam in the form of a test (max 20 points) and a defence of media project (max 20 points). The assessment of students' knowledge is carried out in the form of semester assessment (practical classes, tests, independent work, module assignments). A final test is assigned if a student does not earn the required number of final points (60). Successful completion of an assignment (tests, practical classes, independent work) is rewarded if a student earns at least 60% of the maximum score.
