Learning outcomes
PR7. Have the skills to work independently and as a leader, to get results in a limited time with an emphasis on professional integrity when growing ornamental plants in open and closed soil, designing, creating and operating horticultural facilities. PR8. To be able to competently apply the technologies of planting planting material of ornamental plants in open and closed soil. PR10. To design and organize activities for the cultivation of planting material of decorative grass and flower plants in open and closed soil and to form objects of horticulture in accordance with modern scientific methods and customer requirements.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the basics of biology, plant physiology and phytopathology, ornamental plants of the world based on the materials of the discipline "Dendrology", soil characteristics. 2. To be able to make calculations according to the given formulas and work with a card file, prepare nutrient media for growing plants in laboratory conditions. 3. To have elementary skills of weighing chemical reagents, preparing solutions, proving pH, working in closed soil conditions.
Course content
The educational discipline "Ornamental plants of closed soil with the basics of biotechnology" is a mandatory discipline that forms a comprehensive understanding of the ecological and biological features of decorative plants (decoratively leafy, floral, etc.) of closed soil, the conditions of soil, water and light supply, nutrition , modern technologies of reproduction, cultivation, formation, stimulation of development; features of nutrition and conditions for invitro cultivation of plant cells, tissues and organs, methods of growing isolated plant cells, tissues and organs depending on the purpose of research, microclonal propagation of plants, methods of invitro creation improved forms of plants, cryopreservation of plant cells.

Defense of laboratory work with PH 1.1 - 3.1 – 14 points/7 points. 4. Reports (two) with presentations from PH3.1 - 10 points/5 points. Semester control: in the form of an exam
