PR04. Possess professional knowledge to solve tasks related to the organization and management of horticulture.

On the basis of in-depth knowledge of the natural sciences, form an idea about the preservation of biological diversity to increase the productivity, increase the stability and ecological plasticity of artificial phytocenoses and natural ecosystems in modern urban landscapes under global climate change.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the characteristics of the main types of animals.
2. Be able to identify the main groups (classes) of arthropods by diagnostic features.
3. Possess elementary skills in using specialized computer programs for presenting data in text format, searching and analyzing information in specialized professional journals and the Internet.
Course content
When studying this discipline, students have the opportunity to get acquainted with the largest group of living organisms in terms of the number of species on Earth, to learn the features of the structure and functioning of the body of an insect, to find out the reasons for the biological progress of this group, to determine the role of insects in ecosystems and human life, to gain skills in conducting entomological research. The relevance of studying this discipline is also determined by the need and importance of the student's understanding of the role of insects in anthropogenic ecosystems created and maintained by man, in particular, due to the existence of close and diverse relationships between plants and insects.
