Course content
Endoreduplication is a set of processes that lead to the reproduction of genetic material (increase in DNA content) inside the cell. Forms of endoreproduction are endomitosis, polytenia, etc. The course examines the peculiarities of these processes in different organisms and in different cell types. Structure of polytene chromosomes of different species of organisms, methods of preparation and analysis of preparations of polytene chromosomes of different species of Drosophila, molecular methods of study of polytene chromosomes and use of polytene chromosomes in different areas of biological science.
