PR02. Use modern information technologies, software and Internet resources for information support of professional activity PR06. Apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, ecology, mathematics in the process of learning and providing professional PR07. Have the techniques of self-education and self-improvement. Be able to design the trajectory of professional growth and personal development, applying the acquired knowledge. PR08. Know and understand the basic terms, concepts, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and on the borders of subject areas. PR20. Argue the choice of methods, algorithms for planning and conducting field, laboratory, clinical and laboratory research, including mathematical methods and software for research, processing and presentation of results.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of computer science, mathematics, chemistry, physics, bioorganic chemistry. 2. Ability to independently apply knowledge of the basics of computer science and other disciplines, perform laboratory and practical work.
Course content
The discipline is devoted to the study of the role of modern information technologies in biology. The basic concepts and areas of application of bioinformatics are considered. Knowledge of theoretical and applied aspects of the use of computer programs, databases and modern information technology in biological research, as well as practical skills in their application to obtain, analyze, present and store biological information.
