Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before studying this course, students must know the basic methods of research. 2. Be able to collect and interpret information to build arguments, build reasoning, draw rational conclusions from available information. 3. Have basic skills in working with professional literature, information management, critical attitude to events and phenomena.
Course content
The discipline acquaints students with the basics of logical knowledge and combines the teaching of traditional (Aristotelian) and modern (symbolic) logic. The subject, methods, main problems and directions of logical research are determined. Important concepts are studied: reasoning, correctness / incorrectness, logical form, logical following, deduction / induction, logical law, logical equivalence, logical compatibility, formalization. Finding out the essence of these concepts and the relationship between them is part of the general competence of a specialist in any field of knowledge. A number of criteria for the correctness of reasoning are introduced. The structural structure and types of considerations are determined.
