Prerequisites and co-requisites
This course is based on knowledge of the school course of chemistry (classes of inorganic compounds, theory of electrolytic dissociation, atomic structure), physics (gas laws, atomic structure, electricity, magnetism) and mathematics (equations and systems of equations, actions with degrees and roots, averages, natural and decimal logarithms, proportionality, functions and their graphs). The material of the discipline is the basis for the study of biotechnology, technology, organic, physical, colloid chemistry, as well as a number of disciplines in the profile of the future specialty.
Course content
The course program consists of several sections. The introductory section is devoted to the consideration of inorganic chemistry as one of the main components of chemical science. The current state of inorganic chemistry, its problems and significance for the development of biotechnology and bioengineering are discussed. The concept of a systematic approach to the study of various technological and biotechnological processes is given. In the following sections, students are informed about the structure of matter (atoms, molecules), as well as basic concepts of chemical bonding theory and its most important characteristics, solution theory, classification of inorganic substances and reactions, chemical equilibria, etc. The basics of the theory of chemical and physicochemical analyzes, statistical processing of analysis results, methods of measurements on atomic absorption and flame atomic emission spectrometers and gas chromatography are considered.
