Learning outcomes
The student must know the current state of the field in relation to the topic of the work, theoretical information on the topic of the thesis, methods and techniques used in the work. A student must be able to make an analytical review of scientific and technical literature, perform research, engineering development, draw conclusions based on the results obtained.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The thesis is completed at the final stage of training after studying the entire complex of educational components of this educational program and is based on the results of their mastery. Especially it is important to fulfill the educational components related to the development of practical work skills - a course project and scientific and industrial practice. Implementation of an individual educational trajectory of a higher education student is realized by choosing a thesis topic related to electives components chosen by the student during the training process.
Course content
Master's thesis is a type of independent creative work of the applicant, performed by him on the last stage of training. The topic of the thesis corresponds to current problems specialty "Telecommunications and radio engineering" and is oriented towards the purpose of this educational and scientific programs, i.e. for the training of a qualified engineer to perform information protection tasks. The development of radio engineering systems may be carried out during the completion of the thesis purpose and their components; software tools designed to ensure work telecommunication systems; research that ensures the development of the industry, etc.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The thesis topic for each student of higher education is formulated and approved by the department before the start of its implementation, it must correspond to the general direction of the educational program. The scientific supervision of the master's thesis is individual, that is, a specific supervisor is appointed for each of the candidates for its implementation. The completion of the diploma thesis is mainly the independent work of the candidate, but he has the right to be consulted by the supervisor and (if necessary) by other scientific and pedagogical staff of the department. A fully completed thesis is submitted by the applicant to the department by the deadline, not later than two weeks before the day of the defense at the Examination Committee.
Assessment methods and criteria
The procedure for defending a master's thesis at the Examination Committee is regulated by the Regulation on the Procedure for the Creation and Organization of the Work of the Examination Committee at Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University dated November 3, 2014 (http://nmc.univ.kiev.ua/docs/Polojennya%20pro%20DEK.doc). The master's thesis is evaluated using a point-rating system for evaluating knowledge on a 100-point national scale. In the case of a negative feedback by the academic supervisor or a negative review, it is final the decision on the admission (non-admission) of the qualifying work to the defense is made based on the results department of preliminary protection.
