Learning outcomes
The student should know natural and laboratory plasma; basic models of plasma; kinetic and hydrodynamic description of plasma; relaxation processes in plasma; transfer processes in plasma; magnetic confinement of plasma; controlled fusion; oscillations and waves in an isotropic plasma; oscillations and waves in magnetoactive plasma; nonlinear phenomena in plasma; basic methods of plasma diagnostics.
The student must be able to calculate the properties of a thermodynamically balanced plasma; calculate the properties of the main types of oscillations and waves in plasma; calculate transfer processes in plasma.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The educational discipline "Plasma physics and plasma technologies" is based on the cycle of mandatory bachelor's disciplines of the corresponding specialty, namely: "Mathematical analysis", "Differential equations", "Methods of mathematical physics", "Mechanics", "Molecular physics", "Electrodynamics ",
"Optics", "Quantum mechanics", "Oscillations and waves".
Prerequisites:
the student must know: basic laws, equations and relationships of mechanics, molecular physics, electricity and magnetism;
the student must be able to: use the apparatus of higher mathematics (mathematical analysis, linear algebra, differential equations).
Course content
The study of the discipline "Physics of plasma and plasma technologies" makes it possible to understand the essence of plasma as a state of matter and such phenomena: plasma Maxwellization, transfer processes in plasma,
magnetic confinement of plasma, controlled thermonuclear fusion, oscillations and waves in plasma, nonlinear effects in plasma, methods of plasma diagnostics and others.

Lectures, practical classes, independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: the academic semester has three content modules. After completing their study, colloquiums are held, and a modular test is conducted based on the results of practical classes. Mandatory for admission to the exam is: obtaining at least 36 points of the semester rating.
Final evaluation - in the form of an exam; the form of the exam is written and oral. In total, you can get from 0 to 40 points for the exam. The condition for achieving a positive grade for the discipline is to obtain at least 60 points, the grade for the exam cannot be less than 24 points.
