Learning outcomes
As a result of studying the discipline, the student should know the methods of creating, processing and saving multimedia data, the main formats for saving and transmitting such data, be able to analyze multimedia files and effectively use tools for their processing and playback.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student have to know the basic laws, equations and relationships of geometric and wave optics, methods and approaches of statistical analysis, PC hardware and software.
Course content
The discipline program studies the state of modern multimedia information technologies and their place in human life, methods and means of creating, processing, saving and presenting multimedia information, as well as the principles of building modern multimedia applications and formats for saving multimedia content. Applied issues of digital processing and information transportation in multimedia systems are considered. The methods and principles of construction of digital signal processing devices, as well as the peculiarities of their functioning, are outlined. Considerable attention is paid to the combined use of information processing and transportation in the process of implementing various digital technologies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures in the amount of 42 hours.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester score: The discipline has one module, which is estimating at 60 points. Final score (exam): the form of the exam is written-oral. The test paper consists of 2 questions, which is estimated up to 20 points. In total, you can get from 0 to 40 points for the exam. The condition for achieving a positive grade for the discipline is to obtain at least 60 points, the exam score can not be less than 24 points.
