Learning outcomes
Know the main methodological guidelines for interdisciplinary research in the field of studying the worldview of past societies. Know the classification features of immovable artifacts that connect them with the cult sphere of certain cultures of the past. Know the classification features of movable artifacts that connect them with the cult sphere of certain cultures of the past. Know the principles of correct comparative analysis of archaeological and ethnographic materials. To know the main signs of cultural transmission embodied in archaeological material. To be able to independently determine the suitability of certain elements of material culture for characterizing the worldview of past societies. To be able to correctly interpret elements of material culture as manifestations of cult practices. To be able to independently choose certain methodical tools for researching monuments of the cult sphere.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the basic principles of archaeological periodization, archaeological cultures of Eastern Europe and adjacent territories. 2. To be able to apply basic methods of arrangement and analysis of archaeological materials. 3. To have basic skills of cultural and chronological identification of various archaeological sources.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (ЗМ1) includes topics 1–4, content module 2 (ЗМ2) includes topics 5–8.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points obtained from all topics of the two content modules (points obtained during the blitz survey; points obtained for the completion of essays; points obtained during the module control (for the completion of test tasks), as well as points, received during the final control (exam). Assessment of students' knowledge success is carried out in two forms: semester assessment (tests, oral blitz survey, essays) and final assessment (exam). The total number of points is 100 points (of which, the semester assessment is a maximum of 60 points; the final assessment (exam) is a maximum of 40 points). The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are: • complete disclosure of the issue; • the logic of presentation; • use of basic and additional literature; • analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions.
