Learning outcomes
Know the main guidelines of the monument protection legislation and other regulatory documents regarding field archaeological research.
To know the main methodological requirements for the performance of field archaeological research.
To know the modern principles of the chamber research cycle and the main methods used for the analysis of archaeological material.
To know the principles of combining analytical procedures in modern archaeological research.
To know the methodological foundations of historical reconstructions based on the results of the analysis of archaeological material.
To be able to independently determine the methodological tools necessary for conducting field research of a certain archaeological site.
To be able to independently determine the methodological toolkit for solving a specific scientific problem of the reconstructive-interpretive level of archaeological research.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites for mastering or choosing an academic discipline:
1. Know the basic principles of scientific knowledge and the formation of a scientific worldview.
2. To be able to apply these principles in relation to the problematic field of archaeology, prehistory and protohistory.
3. Possess elementary skills of independent processing of scientific literature and regulatory acts.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars and independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (ZM1) includes topics 1 - 5, content module 2 (ZM2) - topics 6 - 10.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods: seminars, modular control, independent work (performance of an individual task)
The criteria for evaluating the student's answer during the seminar are:
• complete disclosure of the issue
• the logic of presentation
• use of basic and additional literature
• analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
