Tasks of studying the discipline are aimed at acquiring the following competencies by the student: to correlate the modern system of civilizational values with legal values, principles and professional ethical standards; analyze the interaction of international law and international legal systems with the legal system of Ukraine based on awareness of basic modern legal doctrines, values and principles of law.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites for mastering the discipline: 1. To know the basic aspects of protection against unfair competition; features of protection against unfair competition by the bodies of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine; general principles of legal support for the protection of intellectual property from unfair competition, acts of legislation governing relations in the field of protection against unfair competition. 2. Be able to assess and determine the role and objectives of protection against unfair competition. 3. To have basic skills in preparing draft legal documents, taking into account the peculiarities of the practical situation and with the help of legal methods to resolve disputes arising in the field of protection against unfair competition.
Course content
The discipline "Protection against unfair competition" is part of professional training of specialists at Master in Law program, educational course "Intellectual Property" at the Education and Research Law School of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The main components of the discipline are the formation of competencies aimed at demonstrating knowledge of scientific approaches, basics of methodology and research methods of protection against unfair competition; ability to evaluate and analyze legal problems and practical legal situations in the field of protection against unfair competition; ability to further study with a high level of autonomy.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The study of the discipline includes lectures, seminars; polls (express survey)/testing/essay (reference paper) on the proposed topic; module tests; self-study, individual assignments; credit.
Assessment methods and criteria
Types of ongoing performance evaluation can be: express survey, report, research, testing (from the set of judgments to choose the right ones), case solving (tasks), module test (final test). During the ongoing performance evaluation at seminars, the following are assessed: the level of knowledge demonstrated by the student in the answer, activeness in discussing the issues of the seminar, regular work in the classroom, the results of self-study. The discipline is taught during one term. 10 days before the beginning of the session, the teacher who conducts the seminars no longer accepts missing assignments. For students who have not scored the minimum threshold level of assessment, a final test is conducted.
