Learning outcomes
Students' achievement of such competencies, skills and abilities as: Fluency in legal foreign language (one of the official languages of the Council of Europe) orally and in writing; to analyze the interaction of international law and international legal systems with the legal system of Ukraine on the basis of awareness of the basic modern legal doctrines, values and principles of law; to conduct a comparative legal analysis of individual legal institutions of different legal systems, taking into account the relationship of the legal system of Ukraine with the legal systems of the Council of Europe and the European Union; have practical skills in solving problems related to the implementation of procedural functions of law enforcement agencies
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basic principles of interpretation of the Convention and the case law of the European Court on topics studied in the special course. Be able to correctly interpret the provisions of the Convention and the case law of the European Court on topics studied in the special course, to develop a legal position taking into account the case law of the European Court of Human Rights. Have basic skills in working with educational and legal literature, the use of scientific methods of knowledge and legal methods of resolving controversial practical situations
Course content
Teaching forms and teaching methods are aimed at in-depth study of the Convention and the case law of the European Court of Human Rights. The course examines the history of the adoption of the Convention and the formation of its text, the conditions of admissibility of the complaint, the principles of interpretation of the Convention, created and developed by the Court, the content and structure of civil rights guaranteed by the Convention.

Lecture, seminar, self-study work.
Assessment methods and criteria
At seminars current control of the student's knowledge of the discipline includes: reports and research papers - from 6 to 10 points; express examination - from 6 to 10 points; case resolution - from 6 to 10 points; colloquium - from 6 to 10 points. The following are subject to assessment: the level of knowledge demonstrated in the response; activity in discussing issues; systematic work in the classroom; homework results. Missing for good reason seminar classes a student can work in extracurricular time (time of teacher consultations) through oral interviews, testing, preparation of scientific reports. A student who has not reached the minimum threshold level of assessment (24 points) of those learning outcomes that cannot be assessed during the final control may be excluded from the final assessment. The final assessment of the student's knowledge takes place during the written exam (maximum score - 60).
