Learning outcomes
Students’ achievement of such competencies, skills and abilities as: to know the historical and legal preconditions for the development of ecological expertology in Ukraine, the concept and content of the environmental impact assessment and other expert assessment procedures, research and legal sources of the environmental impact assessment, its implementation and participation of the public, the grounds for legal liability for offenses in the field of the environmental impact assessment; to comprehend the legal nature of the environmental impact assessment opinion; to apply interdisciplinary approaches to solving problems in the sphere of the environmental impact assessment; to know and interpret critically the practical problems of the environmental impact assessment; to form legal models of the relationship regulation of the environmental impact assessment.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know the main aspects of the formation and development of the environmental impact assessment institutions and other expert assessment procedures in Environmental law of Ukraine, features of classification and content of environmental expert relations, acts of environmental legislation governing the environmental impact assessment and other environmental expert procedures; to be able to assess and determine the role and objectives of the environmental impact assessment institutions, strategic environmental assessment, to distinguish between the types of relevant procedures, their stages and subject composition; to have basic skills in preparing legal acts drafts of individual action in the areas of the strategic environmental assessment and environmental impact assessment, considering the specifics of the practical situation and using legal methods to resolve disputes arising in the field of ecology.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at deepening theoretical knowledge, practical skills and abilities to independently solve problems that arise in the field of the environmental impact assessment and other expert assessment procedures. Students study scientific approaches to the essence of environmental expertology, legal regulation of relations for the environmental impact assessment, the procedure and features of the environmental impact assessment implementation, the problem of legal liability for offenses in the field of the environmental impact assessment, etc. Much attention is paid to the formation of students' practical skills in the field of the environmental impact assessment, other expert assessment procedures, study of the ways to improve with the help of the environmental impact assessment of the environmental safety mechanism, rational use, protection and sustaining of natural resources and complexes, environmental protection.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures are conducted using dialectical, historical, comparative and legal research methods, scientific, regulatory and other sources, materials of practice on the environmental impact assessment and other expert assessment procedures. The prospects for legal support of expert evaluation procedures are outlined to students. At the seminars, while solving problems, students are provided with communication regarding the legality of the actions of the subjects of environmental relations, the optimal level of argumentation of the legal positions of the participants is reached. Students prepare drafts of legally significant documents, determine the grounds for legal liability for offenses in the field of expert evaluation. Autonomy in the choice of ways to solve problem situations with the help of environmental and legal tools, considering the teamwork of students is provided.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester forms of assessment are: a report (speech on a given topic) – from 3 to 5 points; a supplement to the report – from 1 to 2 points; express questioning – from 2 to 3 points; a colloquium – from 3 to 5 points; problem solving – from 3 to 5 points; an independent work – from 3 to 4 points; testing (from the set of statements to choose the right ones) – from 3 to 5 points; a participation in the discussion – from 2 to 3 points; test control questioning – from 4 to 8 points. The final assessment – a written credit. The maximum score that a student can get at the end of the semester is 40 points, the minimum score is 24 points. For students who have not reached the minimum score threshold (24 points) during the semester, tests are conducted in the form provided by the work program. According to the results of the final form of control (a credit), a student can get a maximum of 60 points. The final score for the discipline may not be less than 60 points.
