Learning outcomes
Students’ achievement of the following competencies, skills and abilities:
to know and understand the principles of the formation, development of the institute of the environmental control in environmental law of Ukraine,
to be able to solve problems of the implementation of the mechanism for control over observance of the ecological legislation as a direction of the ecological policy, the guarantee of sustainable development of a society and the state, the realization and protection of ecological rights of citizens;
to have the skills and ability to use the acquired knowledge while applying norms of environmental legislation, in the development and adoption of management decisions in the field of the environmental control, providing legal support for informed decisions by the subjects of the environmental control;
skills of the development of environmental procedural documents in the specified sphere.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students acquire the knowledge and general competencies in the general theory of law, constitutional, administrative, civil and criminal, labor law, civil and procedural as well as criminal and procedural law, general and special competencies in environmental, land, agricultural law; to have the skills to assess and determine the role and objectives of the institute of the environmental control in environmental law; to correctly apply the acquired knowledge for the practical characterization of legal phenomena and categories in the field of the environmental management and protection of citizens’ environmental rights; to apply legal norms in this sphere while solving problems individually.
Course content
The study of the discipline highlights the following issues on the principle of architectonics: a) scientific and methodological principles of the origin, development of the environmental control, its concept, forms, types, system and methods of implementation; b) scientific and legal characteristics of normative, organizational, preventive, procedural and punitive forms of environmental control; c) scientific and legal characteristics of the control over the use of natural resources; d) legal bases of environmental control in the field of environmental protection; e) legal principles of the environmental control in the field of the environmental safety.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Considering the content of educational material and learning objectives, the following traditional and innovative learning technologies are used in the process of teaching the discipline:
- lectures on the study of scientific, legal, theoretical and practical principles of the formation and implementation of environmental control in Ukraine;
- seminars at which students, while solving problems, substantiate their legal positions at different stages of the law enforcement, acquire practical skills in the implementation of environmental law in the process of control activities; and gain skills of integration of theoretical and legal knowledge to solve problems of the law enforcement in various fields of professional activity;
- the individual work consists of tasks for students to prepare creative works, comparative tables, analysis of materials for self-study.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods and criteria are chosen by the teacher who conducts seminars, within the number of points provided by the curriculum, namely: express questioning from 2 to 4 points; a colloquium from 2 to 4 points, solving cases from 4 to 6 points; reports and / or scientific papers from 3 to 4 points (total: from 6 to 8 points), testing (from the set of statements to choose the correct ones) from 4 to 6 points; two modal tests from 3 to 6 points for each (total: from 6 to 12 points). The final assessment – a written exam. The final score for the discipline may not be less than 60 points.
