Learning outcomes
The results of students' learning are such knowledge, skills and abilities as: to know, analyze and critically comprehend the theoretical foundations, legal nature and principles of environmental and legal regulation in the field of power engineering; to deeply know the main content of the theoretical and applied research on environmental and legal issues in the field of power engineering in the domestic and foreign scientific doctrine; to know the system and basic content of domestic and international legislation governing relations on environmental and legal issues in the field of power engineering; to critically comprehend problems of the legal regulation in the field of the use of natural resources for power engineering needs, the protection of the environment from the negative impact of energy facilities, ensuring environmental security in the energy sector.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites for mastering the discipline are: the knowledge of normative courses "Environmental Law of Ukraine" and "Problems of Land and Environmental Law" in terms of understanding the legal nature of environmental relations, legal principles of management, the use of natural resources in the system of environmental relations; the legal mechanism for environmental safety; general principles of environmental legislation; the basic knowledge of certain branches of law: constitutional, administrative, land, commercial, civil and others; the mastery of skills of perception and analysis of national and international sources of law.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at studying: scientific and methodological principles of the legal regulation of relations in the field of power engineering of Ukraine (the fuel and energy complex); the legal regulation of the environmental policy in the energy sector; the legal regulation of the use and protection of energy lands, subsoil for the needs of heat-power engineering, water for the needs of water-power engineering; the legal protection of the atmospheric air from the negative impact of energy facilities; the legal regulation of relations on the use of renewable energy sources; the legal support of environmental safety in the mining industry and in the electric power engineering.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Considering the content of the educational material and learning objectives, in the process of teaching the discipline the following studying forms are used: - lectures based on the use of dialectical, comparative law and other methods aimed at the study of scientific and legal issues of the formation and development of energy relations in Ukraine and their correlation with environmental relations, in particular in the use of the subsoil, land, water for energy, protection of atmospheric air from the negative impact of heat power plants; the legal regulation of relations regarding the use of renewable energy sources; - seminars, which provide a detailed examination of the theoretical provisions of the discipline (by preparing theoretical questions and discussions) and develop practical skills (by solving practical problems (cases), using the case-method or the method of analysis of specific situations, modeling court hearings etc.).
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester forms of assessment include: a report – from 3 to 4 points; express questioning – from 2 to 4 points; a colloquium – from 2 to 4 points; problem solving – from 3 to 5 points; an individual work – from 3 to 4 points; testing (from the set of statements to choose the right ones) – from 2 to 4 points; a modal test – from 2 to 4 points for each (total – from 6 to 12 points). The final assessment – an exam. The maximum score that a student can get at the end of the semester is 40 points. The minimum score that a student can get for the appropriate forms of assessment is 24 points. For students who have not reached the minimum threshold score (24 points) during the semester, tests are conducted in the form provided by the curriculum. According to the results of the final form of control (an exam) the student can get a maximum of 60 points. The final score for the discipline may not be less than 60 points.
