Learning outcomes
Achievement of such competencies as the ability to apply general and special knowledge on legal regulation of capital markets and investment; ability to solve complex problems in the field of lawmaking and law enforcement; ability to identify, pose and solve problems of legal regulation of relations in capital markets and investment relations; skills of providing legal advice to the participants of relations in capital markets and investment relations; ability to make well-grounded decisions on the application of legislation to resolving economic disputes; ability to work in an international context.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the provisions of the Economic Code of Ukraine, the Economic Procedural Code of Ukraine, the Civil Code of Ukraine, the legislation on business associations, the basics of international public and private law.
Be competent with legislation, interpret its rules, resolve conflicts, collect and analyse legal information from national and foreign sources, including online resources, develop legal positions to address legal issues and practical situations.
Possess basic skills of legal advice in the field of economic activity, taking into account the peculiarities of a specific situation and resolve disputes between the participants of economic activity with the help of legal methods.
Course content
The course consists of three modules. Module 1 explores the nature of the stock market, the legal regime of securities, the legal basis of state regulation and self-regulation of the stock market, the legal status of stock market participants and the principles of their rights’ protection . Module 2 examines the concepts, structure and subjects of non-banking financial services market, general principles of factoring and leasing services, features of legal regulation of non-banking credit institutions services market, pawnshops and private pension provision. Module 3 provides the students with the analysis of such issues as investments and investment activities; investment law as a sub-branch of economic law of Ukraine and international economic law; state regulation of investment; investment protection guarantees; legal regulation of foreign investment; legal regulation of construction investment; special legal regimes of investment activity.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Types of classes include lectures, seminars, guest lectures. Forms of learning: group learning.
Teaching methods: the optimal combination of general didactic methods, interactive techniques and teaching aids used to organize the educational process at the university (teaching material in the form of lectures using video presentations, dialogue, discussion, questioning, role play, mini-group work etc.).
Presentations of lectures, online learning materials, problems (practical cases), tests, individual self-study tasks are applied.
Assessment methods and criteria
Types of formative assessment are chosen by the teacher who conducts seminars in compliance with the course syllabus. The teacher who conducts seminars processes students’ points scored during coursework and enters them into the student performance evaluation documents. If a student is absent from a seminar for a valid reason, s/he may complete the missed lesson in extracurricular time within 7 days after this lesson was missed, during the teacher's consultation. The procedure is carried out by means of oral questioning or another type of task set by the teacher. Points for missed classes are not awarded. At the end of the semester, missed classes are not completed.
