Tasks of studying the discipline are aimed at forming the following competencies: to present their research on the exercising and protection of copyright, using primary sources and methods of legal interpretation of complex issues arising from this study, to argue conclusions; to develop and teach special disciplines in educational institutions, to apply modern educational technologies and methods.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites for mastering the discipline: 1. To know the peculiarities of the disposal of intellectual property rights in relation to various objects of copyright. 2. Know the concept and system of copyright. 3. Be able to determine the specifics of legal regulation of copyright on the basis of analysis of legislation in the field of intellectual property law.
Course content
The discipline "Exercising and Protection of Copyright" is part of professional training of "Bachelor in Law", educational course "Law" at the Education and Research Law School of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The main components of the discipline are aimed at providing students with knowledge of the principles of legal regulation of relations of exercising and protection of copyright; features of exercising the rights to objects of copyright and related rights; formation of their skills to correctly interpret the content of national and international law on copyright protection; acquisition, disposal and protection of personal non-property and property copyrights.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The study of the discipline involves lectures and practical classes; express survey/testing/essay (abstract) on the proposed topic; modular test work; independent work of students in preparation for seminars; test.
Assessment methods and criteria
Types of ongoing performance evaluation can include: express survey, report, scientific work, multiple testing (from the set of judgments to choose the right ones), case solving (tasks), module test (final test). Things to be assessed in the process of ongoing performance evaluation at the seminars are: the level of knowledge demonstrated by the student during seminars, the level of activity in discussing the issues of the seminar, regular work in the classroom, self-study and individual assignments results.
The discipline is taught during one term. 10 days before the beginning of the session, the teacher who runs the seminars no longer accepts missing assignments. Students who have not scored the minimum threshold level of assessment are given a final test.
