To know: The essence of culture as a system; The specifics of religious culture, its structure and main components; The main problems and patterns of development of Ukrainian spiritual culture of modern and contemporary history; Classification of arts, genres of art, main artistic styles in the history of world and national artistic culture. To be able to: Explain the significance and major role played by paganism and Christian culture in the formation of Ukrainian religious culture; Distinguish between signs and symbols in the art of the past and the modern world; Identify the main aspects of the interconnection of Ukrainian spiritual culture with contemporary socio-cultural conditions. Communication: Present the results of research and independent work in the form of reports, analytical papers, etc; Autonomy and responsibility: To provide an expert assessment of contemporary artistic phenomena that are being formed in the artistic culture of Ukraine.

Full-time form

Prior to taking this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process, trends in philosophical and religious thought of different cultures, the main stages of development of Ukrainian philosophical thought, the main achievements of Ukrainian spiritual culture, socio-historical factors of development of world and national artistic culture. Be able to collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena and phenomena, cultural processes and events, systematically organise factual material, use basic techniques of cultural analysis in the study of the main stages and patterns of historical development of society, have critical thinking skills. Possess skills of scientific research and information management, critical attitude and forecasting in relation to cultural and artistic events and phenomena.

Lecture, seminar, self-study

The final grade for the course (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) is the sum of points for the semester (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and examination work (minimum 24, maximum 40 points). Assessment of semester work: 1. Oral report, supplementary reports and participation in seminar discussions - 24 / 40 points 2. Self-study No. 1 (analytical work on the specifics of spiritual and religious culture) - 6 / 10 points 3. Self-study No. 2 (analytical work on the specifics of artistic culture) - 6 / 10 points The semester grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of mastering the material from all (two) parts of the discipline. The total semester grade consists of points obtained for 1) class work (oral reports, supplements and participation in seminar discussions), 2) self-study (analytical work): - a maximum of 60 points - a minimum of 36 points Written exam - 24 / 40 points
